Softening systems (ion exchangers) are always used if too high water hardness negatively influences the connected water supply systems and processes due to potential calcium deposits. Through the softening any possible blockages in piping or aggregates (e.g. heat exchanger) and deposits on surfaces (e.g. steam boilers) are prevented and a possible reduction of efficiency of the systems is avoided. During the water softening the calcifying calcium and magnesium ions are replaced by sodium ions through the ion exchange.
Especially during the spray process with mold release agents (mixing water) a high water quality contributes significantly to a good result and thus directly influences the quality of the castings.
The softening systems are characterized by: • Compact design as single or twin systems • Need-based and fully automatic functions • Regeneration depending on quantity, time or degree of hardness • Simple operation and handling • Low maintenance .. .. ..
